Polaris Bank has received the Private Sector Champion Award at the 2026 Jobberman Partners’ Convening in Lagos, for its role in advancing youth employment, talent development, and workforce empowerment in Nigeria. The event took place at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island.
The award is given to private sector organisations that show strong leadership in improving youth employability. It covers areas such as structured recruitment programmes, graduate trainee schemes, executive hiring support, candidate assessment initiatives, and partnerships that open sustainable career paths for young Nigerians.
Jobberman, Nigeria’s foremost recruitment and career development platform, convenes the annual event to bring private sector leaders, development agencies, and industry experts together. The goal is to design practical and scalable responses to youth unemployment and to expand access to quality jobs across the country.
Cynthia Sanyaolu, Head of Talent Management at Polaris Bank, said the recognition validates the bank’s long-term approach to people development. She noted that Polaris Bank continues to invest in initiatives that strengthen the national workforce and deliver lasting economic and social value.
“This recognition reflects Polaris Bank’s unwavering belief in the potential of the Nigerian youths and our commitment to building platforms that enable them thrive professionally and economically,” Sanyaolu said. “At Polaris Bank, we see talent development and youth empowerment as critical drivers of national growth and sustainable development.”
The 2026 convening ran under the theme “From Impact to Action: Collectively Designing the Future of Youth Employment in Nigeria.” Sessions focused on how businesses can collaborate with government and development partners to equip young people with market-relevant skills and connect them to opportunities in a rapidly changing economy.
In its citation, Jobberman praised Polaris Bank for delivering measurable results within Nigeria’s employment ecosystem. The platform described the bank as a purpose-driven institution that goes beyond one-off partnerships to support the future of work and improve youth employability outcomes.
Polaris Bank’s youth-focused interventions include its flagship Polaris Graduate Intensive Training (PGIT) and Polaris Tech Ignite Training (TechIGNITE). Both programmes provide structured entry into banking and technology careers through intensive learning, mentorship, and on-the-job exposure. The bank also runs collaborative recruitment and upskilling projects aimed at workforce inclusion and career progression.
Through these efforts, Polaris Bank has positioned itself as a socially responsible financial institution that links business growth with national development. The bank continues to deploy innovation, strategic partnerships, and people-centred programmes to empower individuals, support enterprises, and strengthen communities across Nigeria.
