Nnamani charges Igbo women on enterprising spirit of old

A former Governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani has charged Igbo women to emulate the enterprising skill of old Igbo women, which made them excel in business and politics.

Nnamani stated that today’s Igbo women required the enterprising spirit of the likes of late Margret Ekpo, Flora Nwapa and Ahebi Ugbabe, among others to make the needed impact for sustained growth of the country.

Speaking at a lecture titled: Amazons as Leaders, to mark the second reunion of the 1976 alumni class of the Anglican Girls Grammar School (AGGS) Awkunanaw, Enugu, he insisted that women must contribute maximally to Igbo and Nigeria’s development.

He said Ndigbo were known for industry and as such the spirit enterprise should be maintained by all and sundry as a mark of identity, while encouraging the Igbo women to be aggressive in their pursuits, citing prominent Igbo women who made the Igbo race proud in the past.
