Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to the Nigerian beauty industry and women-owned businesses at the commemorative dinner and awards ceremony of Beauty in the Motherland 2026.

The ceremony was held on October 6, 2026 at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, and formed part of the three-day Beauty in the Motherland programme.

This year’s edition attracted over 3,000 participants and more than 300 exhibitors drawn from skincare, haircare, fragrance, cosmetics, wellness and lifestyle segments.

The dinner, compered by Nancy Isime and Enioluwa Adeoluwa, brought together entrepreneurs, industry leaders, investors, creatives and other stakeholders across the beauty value chain. Guests were entertained with a live performance by music star Yemi Alade.

A major highlight of the evening was the presentation of a special recognition award to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, for her leadership and the bank’s sustained contribution to the growth of the beauty enterprise ecosystem.

The organizers said the award was in recognition of her support for the initiative and the bank’s role in advancing entrepreneurship within the beauty sector.

In her remarks, Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe said Fidelity Bank’s sponsorship of Beauty in the Motherland for the third consecutive year underscores its confidence in the potential of the African beauty industry and the entrepreneurs driving its growth.

She described the African beauty industry as vibrant, innovative and increasingly global, noting that the bank would continue to support entrepreneurs to acquire knowledge, access finance, expand into new markets and build sustainable businesses.

The recognition also highlighted Fidelity Bank’s expanding footprint in supporting sectors dominated by women and young entrepreneurs.

Beyond headline sponsorship, the bank provided on-site business support services, including account opening, payment solutions and financial advisory. It also served as the exclusive Point of Sale service provider for the event, facilitating seamless vendor collections and promoting adoption of digital payments.

Among the solutions showcased were Fidelity POS Instant Settlement, PayGate Plus and its SME account bouquet. Representatives of the bank also engaged exhibitors on financial management, business growth strategies and access to tailored banking services.

The three-day Beauty in the Motherland programme featured exhibitions, product showcases, competitions, networking sessions and business conversations, providing a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with customers, distributors, investors and potential partners.

The conveners, Beatrice Obinna Eneh and Linda Edozien, said the initiative was established to celebrate and advance the human and natural resources powering Africa’s beauty industry, with a long-term goal of strengthening industry structures, empowering entrepreneurs and expanding market access.

Fidelity Bank continues to support small businesses through platforms such as the Fidelity SME Hub, Fidelity Quarterly Business Forum, SME Masterclasses, HerFidelity and FundHer, which offer financing, capacity building, advisory services, digital solutions and market linkage opportunities.

The success of the dinner and awards ceremony reinforced the growing importance of the beauty industry as a major contributor to entrepreneurship, job creation and economic development.

Through its partnership with Beauty in the Motherland, Fidelity Bank is consolidating its position as a leading financial partner to the Nigerian beauty industry and women-led enterprises.
