NIMASA boss takes Blue Economy crusade to Bullion Lecture 2023
By Ray UgochukwuDirector General, of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Bashir Jamoh, will be the Guest Lecturer at this year’s The Bullion Lecture where he will further espouse the potential and benefits of the Blue Economy being championed by his organization.

The Bullion Lecture is an annual event by the Centre for Financial Journalism (CFJ), with this year’s theme as, “Banking on Blue Economy for Nigeria’s Economic Development”.

It is expected that Dr Jamoh will use the opportunity to x-ray the potentials, benefits and likely challenges that will be associated with the Blue Economy before a mixed audience drawn from banking, commercial, manufacturing, maritime and other allied sectors of the economy.

The event, holding tomorrow, Thursday by 10.00am at the Civic Centre, on Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island, Lagos, will have as panelists, Prof. Chris Onalo, Registrar/CEO, National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA) and Dr Mkgeorge Onyung, President, Ship Owners Association of Nigeria (SOAN).

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Centre for Financial Journalism (CFJ), the organisers, Mr Ray Echebiri, the Special Guest of Honour at the event is the Executive Vice Chairman, Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) while the Chairman is the President, Women in Maritime Africa (WIMA), Mrs Jean Chiazor Anishere, SAN.

Echebiri assured that this year’s lecture by the NIMASA boss, would provide a big exposure to both local and foreign investors on the potentials of the sea, especially in the country’s 200 nautical miles Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and the need to exploit them maximally.

He added that The Bullion Lecture was part of CFJ’s contributions to the development and growth of the nation’s economy.
