The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) has donated 435 hospitals and clinics to the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
While receiving the CBCN’s delegation, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of PTF, Boss Mustapha, expressed appreciation to the bishop’s body for making the facilities available to tackle the pandemic.
He thanked the conference for the donation and described the gesture as not only timely, but also necessary, as it would assist medical practitioners in their efforts to end the pandemic in the country.
Meanwhile, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has charged the executive arm of government to ensure equity and fairness in the distribution of stimulus packages to Nigerians.
There has been uproar over the distribution of packages especially as corporate bodies, legislators and other individuals have contributed millions of Naira for the containment of the coronavirus.
This was contained in a statement issued by Ola Awoniyi, Special Adviser on Media to Lawan and made available to journalists in Abuja.
