NURA MIKO TAKES OVER AS ACTING CONTROLLER OF PTML COMMAND IN NCS RESHUFFLE
By Prince Benson Davies
The Nigeria Customs Service has announced a new round of postings aimed at strengthening operations across its key commands, with Deputy Comptroller Nura Miko named Acting Area Controller of the Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited Command. The move takes effect immediately as part of efforts to consolidate revenue performance and compliance standards.
Miko steps into the role with a background in revenue administration and enforcement. Prior to this assignment, he was stationed at the Apapa Port Command, where he supervised revenue desk operations and led compliance interventions that improved duty collection processes and reduced leakages in cargo handling.
He will succeed Comptroller Joe Anani, who has been redeployed to the Tin Can Island Port Command. The redeployment reflects the Service’s approach of rotating experienced officers to commands with high operational and revenue responsibilities.
During his time at Apapa, Miko coordinated a compliance review that identified over N241 billion in outstanding government revenue. The findings led to targeted recovery actions that boosted the Command’s remittance profile and reinforced internal control measures.
For his role in the exercise and his consistent focus on due process, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, presented him with a Certificate of Excellence at the 2025 CGC Conference. The recognition underscored his contribution to accountability and adherence to service guidelines.
The posting exercise also included the elevation of Frank Onyeka to Acting Assistant Comptroller-General. Service officials noted that the adjustments are designed to enhance coordination, improve stakeholder engagement, and sustain the momentum of revenue drive across priority commands.
