SAHCO and BASL Strengthen Partnership to Enhance Airport Service Delivery at MMA2

Collaboration Targets Improved Efficiency, Safety and Passenger Experience
In a bid to deepen institutional ties and improve service delivery, the Managing Director of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc, SAHCO, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin, led members of her executive management team on a courtesy visit to Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, BASL, operators of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two, MMA2, Lagos. The visit was focused on reviewing existing collaboration and identifying new opportunities for synergy that will enhance operational efficiency across Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Receiving the SAHCO delegation, the Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head of Aeronautical and Cargo Services at BASL, Mr. Remi Jibodu, emphasized that continuous engagement among aviation stakeholders is essential for achieving smooth airport operations, stronger safety standards, and improved passenger satisfaction. He noted that a unified approach among operators remains the most effective way to eliminate operational delays and elevate service quality.
Mr. Jibodu stated that MMA2 is committed to maintaining a safe, efficient, and passenger-centered airport environment. He explained that this goal depends largely on effective partnerships with key service providers like SAHCO, whose role in operational improvement and safety compliance is critical to the terminal’s performance. He added that consistent dialogue between both organizations will help harmonize procedures and strengthen service delivery across the aviation value chain.
According to a statement signed by Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head of Corporate Communications at BASL, Mr. Jibodu highlighted several initiatives currently being implemented at MMA2 to drive efficiency. These include advanced operational monitoring systems, real-time performance reporting, structured stakeholder accountability frameworks, and ongoing infrastructure upgrades. He said the measures are aimed at streamlining passenger processing, improving baggage handling, ensuring punctual flight operations, reducing congestion, and ultimately enhancing the overall travel experience.
In her remarks, Mrs. Aboderin congratulated BASL on the recent settlement agreement announced by the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development. She described the development as a positive milestone that will foster a more stable and productive operating environment for all stakeholders at MMA2. She expressed confidence that the resolution will open new avenues for deeper collaboration between SAHCO and BASL, enabling both organizations to concentrate on their shared objectives of safety, efficiency, and service excellence.
Mrs. Aboderin reaffirmed SAHCO’s commitment to supporting MMA2’s operational goals through continued investment in skilled personnel, modern ground support equipment, and improved service processes. She noted that the strengthened partnership will allow both companies to contribute significantly to the advancement of Nigeria’s aviation industry while consistently delivering value to airlines and passengers.
