POLICE ARREST TWO PEOPLE SUSPECTED OF MURDERING THEIR LANDLORD

The Police have arrested two people suspected of murdering their landlord and also robbing him of his vehicle. Also recovered from same source were 50 rounds of live ammunition inside a sack of garri in a motor park.

On the 24th July, 2019 at about 5.00am the Police from Iba Police Station, on stop and search duty at First Gate, Agboroko area Iba flagged down a Toyota Camry which was driven in a reckless and suspicious manner, two suspects namely Daniel Isaac, Male, 38 years old and Emmanuel Chukwu Male, 36 years old were arrested and it turned out that further investigations revealed that the first suspect, Daniel Isaac had killed his landlord, Don Able, Male 50 years old from Rivers State, and dumped his corpse in a well inside his compound at Owodun Street area, Ikotun.

The suspect was said to be escaping with the robbed vehicle of the deceased along with his accomplice, Emmanuel Chukwu, when they were intercepted by the Police.

Confessing, the suspects said their intentions was to sell the car. They confessed to the Commission of the crime Homicide Detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba are investigating the case and suspects will be charged to Court.

In a related development, on the 24th July, 2019 at about 11:15am, the Satellite Police Station received an information from a credible source, that a bag containing suspicious item was smuggled into a motor park for onward transfer to Onitsha, Anambra State by unknown persons. Based on this information, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Chike Oti deployed his surveillance team to the motor park at Maza Maza to recover the bag.

Upon searching the bag, 50 rounds of 38mm live ammunition hidden inside a garri dust was recovered. A female who claimed that the bag was given to her by a man in Ojo area to deliver to someone in Onitsha was arrested and she is helping the Police with useful information. The case has been transferred to SARS for further investigation.

In the same vein, on the 26th July, 2019, at about 7.30am, one Amaechi Ude, Male of No. 15 Etegbin road, Shibiri Lagos, reported at Ilemba Hausa Police Station, that his LT Bus with registration no. JJE 713 XH was stolen by unknown thieves from where it was parked along Etegbin road. A team of detectives led by Inspector Kehinde Kareem swung into action and visited all the mechanic workshops within the area to no avail. But acting on a tip off. Investigation was extended to Atan axis of Ogun State where the vehicle was recovered and one Jamiu surname unknown, male of Tollgate Ogun State who is at large came to remove the said vehicle from where it was parked with their master key which the Police also recovered from him. The suspect will be charged to Court while effort is being made to apprehend the second suspect.

Similarly, the operatives of Operation Crush have arrested 26 cultists in Bariga and Oworonshoki. Following the violent clash between members of two rival cult groups in Bariga and Oworonshoki areas on 21st July, 2019. The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu Mni ordered the immediate deployment of operative to Operation Crush to the two communities with the mandate of identifying isolating, and apprehending the leaders and members of the gangsters and cult groups disturbing the peace of the area. Acting on credible intelligence, twenty six suspects were arrested within 5 days and various assorted weapons were recovered from them.

The suspects will be charged to Court to face the full weight of the law, according to the Police Spokesman. The onslaught is ongoing until they are totally defeated, this emphatic statement emanated from DSP Bala Elkana, the PPRO, Lagos State.
