NIMASA SET UP COMMITTEE TO REVIEW REGISTERED MEMBERS OF DOCKWORKERS SALARY

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency ( NIMASA) has concluded plans to review registered members of the Dockworkers Branch of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria’s (MWUN) Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the year 2023–2024.

This was contained in a statement made public by Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN.

On Monday, the Director-General of NIMASA, through its Executive Director on Maritime Labour and Cabotage Service, Mr. Jibril Abba, constituted the National Joint Industrial Council ( NJIC) committee to start with immediate effect the already-elapsed Dockworkers Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the year 2023–2024.

The President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), under the leadership of Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, who was present at the meeting, thanked the NIMASA Director-General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola for the gesture.

According to the statement, the NJIC committee on the Dockworkers Branch of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) is expected to do thorough work on the new CBA.

The meeting, which was held on Monday, April 29, 2024, was at NIMASA Corporate Headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.
