NCS ENDS ONE-YEAR RECRUITMENT LOGJAM, UNVEILS 3,927 SUCCESSFUL ASC II CANDIDATES

The Nigeria Customs Service has released the final list of successful applicants for the position of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II, ASC II, bringing to an end a recruitment process that lasted nearly one year.

The exercise, described as one of the longest in the history of the Service, was dogged by delays that triggered intense lobbying and speculation among applicants.

In a statement, the Service directed successful candidates to check their status on the official NCS recruitment portal and in selected national newspapers where the list has been published. It added that further instructions would also be sent to successful applicants via the emails and phone numbers they provided during application.

According to the statement, candidates who receive notification must log on to the recruitment portal with either their National Identification Number or the email address used during application.
On the portal, they are to upload a valid Medical Certificate of Fitness issued by a government-recognised hospital.

The portal for uploading the medical certificates will be activated on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Successful candidates are required to complete the upload within one week of activation.
In addition, applicants must update their current state of residence on the portal and formally accept the provisional offer of appointment by clicking the “Accept Offer” button.

“Successful candidates will receive their Trainee Identification Number within one week after completing the required online procedures,” the statement said.

It added that details on documentation and physical screening, including dates, venues and other requirements, will be communicated through the Service’s official channels.

The NCS warned that failure to comply with any of the requirements within the stipulated timeline could lead to disqualification and forfeiture of the provisional offer.

“On behalf of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, the Comptroller-General of the Service congratulates all successful candidates on their success in the recruitment exercise and looks forward to welcoming them into the Nigeria Customs Service as they commence a career dedicated to professionalism, integrity and service to the nation,” the statement read.

Candidates wrote the CBT in September 2025, and the final physical screening was wrapped up on May 10, 2026.
