Government considers evaluation mechanism for incoming ministers

The Federal Government is to institute a monitoring and evaluation framework to track the performance of every ministry with a view to ensuring delivery on the administration’s programmes.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, dropped the hint yesterday after a two-day retreat for ministers-designate at the State House, Abuja.

Acknowledging that there could be both anticipated and unanticipated challenges to be encountered in the course of discharging government functions, he, however, urged the incoming ministers not to despair.

As public servants, Mustapha said the appointees were not only expected to deliver results that improve the lives of fellow citizens and transform the country, but also to exhibit hard work, honour, integrity, ingenuity and the can-do spirit.
