TETFund clarifies late submission of three years’ accounts

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has explained the delay in the submission of its 2014 to 2016 accounts.

The clarification followed an inquiry by the National Assembly after the office of the Auditor General of the Federation had alleged infractions in the exercise.

But addressing the Aminu Suleiman-chaired House of Representatives Committee on Tertiary Education and Services yesterday in Abuja, the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, stated that the delay was due to the absence of a board of trustees during the period to hasten and sanction the process.

He said the organisation had evidence of submission of the 2014 account on February 4, 2016, with signatures of all the auditors, while his predecessor, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa, signed the documents as chief executive.
