The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria proudly commends the historic appointments of Madam Jemilat Mahamah as Chairman of the Board of the Ghana Maritime Authority and Ms. Iroghama Ogbeifun as a Board Member of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
These appointments mark significant milestones for the maritime industry in West Africa. Madam Mahamah’s leadership is expected to drive bold reforms and strategic progress in Ghana’s maritime sector, while Ms. Ogbeifun’s appointment reflects the growing impact of female leadership in shaping maritime governance.
“WISTA Nigeria is immensely proud of these achievements,” said Dr. Odunayo Ani, President of WISTA Nigeria. “These appointments demonstrate the power of women’s leadership and reinforce our commitment to advancing women’s roles in the industry.”
WISTA Nigeria views these appointments as victories for inclusive leadership and gender representation across West Africa’s maritime landscape. These milestones underscore the association’s dedication to fostering collaboration and promoting women’s leadership in the region.
