WISTA Nigeria Marks International Dockworkers Day 2024 with Call for Safer Workplace

The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria has joined the global maritime community in celebrating International Dockworker Day 2024. The event, which aims to recognize the vital contributions of dockworkers to the global economy, also highlights the importance of ensuring a safe working environment for these unsung heroes.
The President of WISTA Nigeria, Dr. (Mrs.) Odunayo Ani, gave this congratulatory remark during the industry celebration, which was held in Surulere, Lagos, to mark the global event on Wednesday.
According to her, the 2024 Day of the Dockworkers theme, “Safety First, Efficiency Always” underscores the importance of maintaining a safe work environment that enables dockworkers optimally carryout their work.
