The GMD/CEO of Widescope Group of Companies, Dr. Segun Musa, has shared his “2H & I” philosophy with members of the Journalists Like-Mind Advocacy Group (JLMAG) at a colloquium organized to celebrate his birthday. The theme of the event was “Impact on Gen Z Sustainability and Security Discussion Is Invaluable.”

Dr. Musa emphasized the importance of inspiring Gen Z to take right actions as tomorrow’s leaders. He explained that the “2H” in his philosophy represents Humility and Humanity, while the “I” represents Integrity. According to Dr. Musa, these values are essential for building strong character and achieving success in life.

Dr. Musa lamented the decline of moral values among young people, citing examples of disrespect, laziness, and compromised integrity. He stressed that parents must be intentional in building role models and teaching children the importance of humility, humanity, and integrity.

When asked how his philosophy could be cascaded to families, Dr. Musa advised parents to be deliberately humble, human, and integrity-driven. He emphasized the importance of leading by example and encouraging young people to ask questions about the character of those who will superintend over their affairs.

Dr. Musa also highlighted the need for deterrence and the importance of law enforcement agencies upholding the law without fear or favor. He noted that Nigeria used to have upright law enforcers in the past and that the agencies that are saddled with enforcing the law without minding whose ox is gored are scarce.

The “2H & I” philosophy is a timely reminder for parents, educators, and caregivers to prioritize the moral upbringing of the younger generation. By instilling humility, humanity, and integrity in children, we can help them develop strong character and achieve success in life.
