This was disclosed through SON Director’s representative, Engineer Enebi Olutoye, at the media roundtable, Organised by Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria, MAJAN.
According to him, SON has its mark of certification on goods manufactured in Nigeria, as well as those imported into the country. As such, can trace every product suspected to be substandard to the manufacturer or origin, in order to prevent people from consuming such dangerous goods.
Also speaking, the Founder of NAGAFF, Dr Boniface Aniebonam said SON must return to the seaports immediately, to check fake and life-endangering products coming into the country through these areas.
Dr Aniebonam commended MAJAN for the media roundtable and called on maritime Journalists to do more on the area of investigative reporting on issues concerning the maritime sector of the economy.
