Wale Edun Inaugurates New NDIC Management Team

……Finance Minister Charges NDIC to Ensure Economic Stability

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has inaugurated the new management team of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). The team includes Mr. Thompson Oludare Sunday as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and Dr. Kabir Sabo Katata as Executive Director (Operations).

– Mr. Thompson Oludare Sunday: A seasoned financial expert with over 30 years of regulatory and supervisory experience. He spent 24 years in banking supervision at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and has expertise in corporate governance, risk management, and compliance.
– Dr. Kabir Sabo Katata: A quantitative energy strategist and computational finance expert with strong power trading and risk management experience. He has over 28 years of experience in designing and managing innovative systems in multiple industries, including finance and government.

During the inauguration, Mr. Edun emphasized the crucial role of NDIC in Nigeria’s economic stability and prosperity. He charged the management team to leverage their diverse experience and expertise to deliver on their mandate, assuring them of the ministry’s full support.

The new management team has pledged to discharge their duties effectively, protecting depositors and contributing to the stability of the financial system. Mr. Sunday promised to work harmoniously with staff to move the corporation to its next level of performance, focusing on public policy objectives and the corporation’s mandate.

The management team was warmly welcomed by the workforce at the Corporation’s Head Office. Mr. Sunday expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their appointment and assured the Minister of their readiness to live up to expectations.
