Sub-standard products of Nigeria to be gotten rid of – SON vows By PRINCE DAVIES.

Osita Aboloma, the Director General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), has vowed to rid the country of sub-standard products.

Aboloma, said this at a one-day National Stakeholders’ Sensitisation Forum in Kaduna yesterday, he also cautioned Nigerians against patronising fake products imported into the country because they kill.

He mentioned that the war against fake or sub-standard products could only be won through the collaboration of relevant stakeholders such as the Nigeria Customs Service, the Nigeria Police, freight forwarders and Nigerian Shippers’ Council, among others.

He further said that to ensure the country overcome the menace of fake products, the agency embarked on enforcing compliance through various standards such as MANCAP, SONCAP and placement of logos on products.

He then said that it was to enable customers to identify the difference between fake products and originals.
