South, Middle Belt coalition threatens to resist attacks in North

A Southern and Middle Belt Coalition under the auspices of Citizens Against Tyranny (CAT), has threatened to ensure that any form of intimidation or violence against Southern Nigerian peoples in the North would be met with equal resistance.

While calling for the arrest of Northern youths who issued a 30-day ultimatum to governors who opposed to the RUGA settlement programme, the group said it would not fold its arms and wait to be maimed or killed under any guise.

In a statement yesterday, they urged the Federal Government to focus on how to end the escalating violence in the country and provide security for Nigerians instead of fixating on herders’ welfare against the wellbeing of other Nigerians.
