Social security nets for all on merit, FG insists

The National Social Investment Office (NSIO) has pledged a level-playing field for all Nigerians in the execution of the Social Intervention Programmes (SIPs) of the Federal Government.

The Special Adviser to the President on Social Investment, Mrs. Maryam Uwais, gave the assurance in Kaduna while addressing Course 2 participants of the Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship, a mentorship programme to groom future leaders in the country.

She said structures had been put in place to ensure that whosoever that benefits from the social security nets does so on merit.

Uwais told the group of budding leaders drawn from across the federation that gone were the days when a privileged few in the society benefited from a government empowerment initiative designed for the poor.
