The Seme Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded an impressive revenue collection of N2 billion in the first three weeks of 2026. This achievement is a testament to the command’s high momentum of revenue generation in 2025, where it recorded N15.6 billion.

Revenue Generation:
The command’s revenue generation has been impressive, with N2 billion collected in just three weeks. This is a significant achievement, considering the command’s revenue target for the year.

Anti-Smuggling Efforts:
The command has also stepped up its anti-smuggling efforts, with a recent raid on the Badagry market resulting in the impounding of over 200 bags of smuggled rice. The Area Controller, Comptroller Wale Adenuga, vowed that the raid would be a continuous exercise until the Badagry roundabout is cleared of miscreants.

Collaboration with MARAN:
The command has also pledged its support to the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) and promised to collaborate with the association for mutually beneficial programs. The Chairman of MARAN’s Caretaker Committee, Mr. Tunde Ayodele, congratulated Comptroller Adenuga on his assumption of duties and assured him of the association’s support.

Quote:
Comptroller Adenuga: “We will continue to sustain the momentum that propelled the officers into 2026. We will ensure that the command meets its revenue targets and continues to support the growth of the economy.”

The Seme Command’s achievement is a testament to the command’s commitment to revenue generation and anti-smuggling efforts. The command’s collaboration with MARAN is also expected to yield positive results in the future.
