Saudi Arabia Immigration has intercepted 300 pilgrims with fake travel documents attempting to perform this year’s hajj.
The discovery comes as the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) yesterday announced the completion of the first phase of 44,450 pilgrims airlifted to the Asian nation.
Addressing a press conference in Jeddah, the Director-General, Directorate of Passport, Brigadier General Abdullazeez, disclosed that the fake e-passports were recovered from the intending pilgrims at various points of entry.
The briefing marked the end of pilgrims’ entry into the holy land, as the host country had shut all its doors midnight Tuesday.
