To address the challenges of delayed vehicle clearance, the PTML Command has embarked on a mission to reform and optimize its clearance processes, ensuring that vehicles are cleared swiftly and efficiently.

Addressing newsmen on Tuesday at the command’s 2025 International Customs Day celebration in Lagos. The Area Comptroller, Daniyan, asserted that compliance from importers and agents is key to achieving this ambitious goal.

“ The command is capable of clearing automobile cargoes within one hour,” Daniyan emphasized

The drive towards efficiency aligns with the NCS modernization project, in which the PTML Command plays a leading role. Daniyan assured that 2025 would see further improvements in trade facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and security measures.

Adding to its cargo clearance reforms, the command has recorded a significant milestone with the approval of PTML Terminal by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for pharmaceutical imports. Daniyan attributed this achievement to the terminal’s high security standards and transparent operations.

He applauded Grimaldi Shipping Line for launching direct shipping services between Lagos and Shanghai, describing it as a boost for legitimate trade and economic growth.

“As you are all aware, this command is playing a piloting role in the reorganisation of the NCS’s modernisation project, which has started recording successes, he stated
