PSC Workshop Concludes with Commitment to Positive Change

A two-day workshop on Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Effective Police Oversight, organized by the Police Service Commission (PSC) with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), has ended in Abuja.

PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu, said the new Governing Board has brought positive innovations and is committed to making genuine sacrifices to make the Commission work for the nation and staff. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and constructive criticism.

The workshop focused on internal governance, public accountability, and effective police oversight. Participants, including Board Members, Directors, and Heads of Departments, were galvanized to make a difference and help the Commission meet Nigerians’ expectations.

The UNDP Representative, Napoleon Enayaba, pledged continued partnership with the Commission, commending the Board’s commitment and staff’s dynamism.

The workshop featured seven paper presentations, including sessions on understanding the PSC mandate, strengthening oversight and accountability, effective policy implementation, and digital transformation for effective police oversight.
