PSC Chairman Charges Promoted Officers to Uphold Undiluted Nationalism and Devotion to Public Good

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 4,741 Inspectors, 38 Specialist Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP), and 29 Specialist Superintendents (SPs) in a recent plenary meeting held in Abuja. This development marks a significant milestone in the Nigeria Police Force’s efforts to enhance professionalism and efficiency.
Details of the Promotion
– Inspectors: 4,708 officers were promoted to unconfirmed Assistant Superintendents of Police, while 33 were promoted to Senior Inspectors.
– DSP Specialists: 38 Specialist Deputy Superintendents of Police were promoted to Superintendents.
– SPs Specialists: 29 Specialist Superintendents were promoted to Chief Superintendents.
The Commission had earlier approved the promotion of
– 12 Commissioners of Police: to the next rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police
– 16 Deputy Commissioners: to substantive Commissioners
– 28 Assistant Commissioners: to Deputy Commissioners
Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu, rtd mni, urged the promoted officers to embody undiluted nationalism, zeal, and uncommon devotion to public good, especially in their day-to-day interaction with the public. He reminded them that they are the “friend next door” and should live up to the expectations of Nigerians. The PSC Chairman assured them that the Commission will continue to champion improvements in their condition of service.
