Ahead of the November 16, 2019 governorship election in Bayelsa State, the Ijaw Professionals Association (IPA) will, tomorrow, hold a workshop in Yenagoa towards achieving credible, violence-free polls.
IPA is organising the workshop in collaboration with Ijaw Nations Forum (INF), Ijaw Women Connect (IWC) and Embasara Foundation.
Theme of the workshop is ‘Credible Governorship Elections and Good Governance in Bayelsa State: Building Consensus through the Ijaw Charter and Ijaw Nation Code of Ethics, Leadership and Governance (CELG)’.
Expected at the event are former President Goodluck Jonathan (GCFR), Governor Seriake Dickson, former governors and ministers, aspirants, political appointees and newly elected political office holders in the state.
IPA president, Elaye Otrofanowei, in a statement urged every true Ijaw professional and stakeholder in Bayelsa as well as lovers of peace and democracy to be at the workshop.
