PAN IGBO GROUP MOVES TO CONSOLIDATE UNITY,SUPPORT IN LAGOS

A prominent pan Igbo socio-cultural group, Ndigbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria, yesterday mobilised a large number of its people which comprised mostly the executives and patrons, for what could be best described as a unity and support move.

The massive exodus which had well over 2000 people of the association to the house of a prominent community leader and party stalwart of the All Progressive Congress in Lagos,Alh Taoreed Faronbi where the president of the association, High Chief C.C Nwokedi had declared that the visit was to show that the Igbos are a people with a global mindset who believe in the progress and development of one big, very united Nigeria. According to Nwokedi, the mission simply revealed that the Igbos and Yorubas are one people.

Alh. Taoreed Faronbi when talking appreciated his visitors and promised to always support good courses of the Igbos as long as they are for peace and progress.

The group moved from there to Ikotun police station on a courtesy visit to the Divisional Police Officer who recently resumed as DPO. At the division, the association, through its president, promised to help refurbish one of the patrol vehicles not presently functional. The president assured that the project will be embarked upon after the project the association is undertaking for Area ‘m’ command.

When the group landed in the Igando/Ikotun Local Council Development Area Secretariat to extend a hand of fellowship to the executive chairman who they promised to partner with in any form that will facilitate good governance, growth and peaceful co-existence.
