Ozubulu stands still as Adaobi Nwabunike goes home in style By Prince Benson Davies

August 27, 2021, will remain indelible in minds of the people of Ozubulu, Visitors and neighbouring towns and villages, for it was a day a great daughter of Ozubulu, Maria Adaobi Nwabunike went home in the most celebrated fashion never before witnessed in the
land.

In an emotion laden dirge,Hon.Biju Tony Nwabunike captured the feeling in these words “In life, we loved you dearly, In death, we love you still.

In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill.” Indeed the burial of late Mrs Adaobi Nwabunike was a carnival of sorts . The burial ceremony began with the late Adaobi Nwabunike brought into the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Okunu Eziora, Ozubulu in a well-deserved chariot that would make many Kings green with envy.

At the end of the burial rites, the whole place went agog as various groups including the brass band Uyo entertained the huge crowd of mourners and sympathisers who graced the occasion among whom included former Governor of Anambra State His Excellency, Peter Obi, serving Senators, House Reps. Members, Commissioners, Business Tycoons, Movers and Shakers of the society amongst other eminent personalities that grace the burial carnival.
