One Million  Boys Confraternity, Police Arrest 8 During Initiation

The police command in Lagos has apprehended eight suspected members of ‘one million boys’ cult group during initiation exercise at the Ikenna Hausa area of the state.

The suspects comprising six males and two females were arrested by operation crush outfit of the command. According to the Lagos State police public relations officer,  DSP Bala Elkana, “Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of operation crush from Ilemba Hausa Police station led by the division police officer, CSP Kareem Abode, apprehended eight suspected members of one million boys confraternity during initiation “.

The suspects namely: Gabriel Rowan,  Sikiru,  Abayomi, Alibi, Idimu, Bisola, Hawaii, were arrested at Alado street shibari, where they were been initiated into the cult group by their leader Abu,  20.  Three sharp cutlasses,  a fetish calabash suspected to be Indian help were recovered from them.  The suspects were immediately charged to Court and have been remanded in prison custody.

On the other hand, the police also arrested two suspects traffic robbers at the Mushin area of the state,  Elkana said.

The Lagos  State Police public relations officer (PPRO) said,  anti-crime patrol team from Mushin Police station led by inspector Dada Akawu,  intercepted a Honda Motorcycle with registration number AKM300vj red in colour, along Ogun Street Mushin. It was reported that the motorcycle was conveying four persons suspected to be members of a gang of armed robbers terrorising the environment. They mostly operated on the motorcycle for easy access to escape routes after the operation.

The gang was responsible for several robberies reported in the area with the same mode of operation. Taofeek, the leader of the gang,  was arrested while others escaped through different directions to crowded areas along Akala, Idioro. They took advantage of traffic situations and disposed of unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables such as handsets,  laptops, bags and money.  The rider refused to stop and was given a hot chase.  The motorcycle was recovered, one bag containing a locally made pistol, one expended cartridge, 11 Live Cartridges,  a jacket decorated with charms were also recovered.

The commissioner of police has directed the Special Anti-Robbery Squad CSARS, to Launch manhunt for other fleeing members of the gang, He said.
