Omo-Agege commends Belema Oil Limited for relocating to Niger Delta

Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege has commended Belema Oil Producing Limited for heeding Federal Government’s directive for Nigerian and multinational oil and gas companies to relocate their operational headquarters to the Niger Delta.

In a letter addressed to the company, Omo-Agege, said the company has set an example worth emulating by other oil and gas firm.

This was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Yomi Odunuga and made available to Senate Press Corps in Abuja.

Omo-Agege, who has been championing the call for relocation in view of the restored peace in the Niger Delta, had argued that relocation of oil and gas companies was not only a demonstration of faith in government and the host communities but also a way to foster financial inclusion for all stakeholders at the grassroots level.

“I write to commend the board, management and staff of your company for conscientiously heeding the presidential initiative advising oil and gas exploration companies in Nigeria to move their headquarters to their operational base.

“Federal Government’s policy initiatives, including the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) and Next Level political thrust, emphasise socio-economic inclusion, which your company’s relocation can further facilitate among its 38 host communities,” the statement reads.
