Ojougboh cautions against speculations on NDDC’s interim management

Executive Director, Projects (EDP) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, has cautioned rumour mongers against attempts to destabilise the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the commission.

Insisting that the IMC was working as a team with a purpose, Ojougboh triggered the red alert against those he who are envious of the IMC’s achievements in the ongoing forensic audit.

He noted that the forensic audit has rattled dubious contractors and looters over the years, especially with the appointment of a lead consultant for the task.

This was contained in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Gabriel Choba, in which he restated that the Acting Managing Director, Dr. Joi Nunieh-led committee, which was set up by President Muhammadu Buhari remained focused.

“The rumour mongers who are envious of the IMC’s milestone, because of the progress in the ongoing forensic audit, which has rattled dubious contractors and looters over the years, should be beware, as we are aware they are trying to destabilise the IMC.

“The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs has already presented the findings of the forensic audit with the appointment of a lead consultant to the Federal Executive Council last Wednesday; therefore everything is on course at the NDDC,” the statement reads.

Ojougboh, therefore, assure members of the public that the IMC woukld work with the lead consultant and in the shortest possible time, the forensic auditors would emerge.

“We seize this opportunity to encourage contractors, who collected money previously and refused to go to site, but have now returned to at the inception of the forensic audit.

“We also encourage other contactors who have completed their verification and documentation, that as soon as the 2019 and 2020 budget is passed, they will be paid,” it added.

While thanking the National Assembly for the prompt attention and cooperation given to the IMC and Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs in the budget presentation, he added that the Niger Delta people deserve the best and that the IMC was ready to them that.
