NPA: Dantsoho Sacks Port Managers Across Seaports In Nigeria

The newly appointed Managing Director of the Nigeria ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, has sacked Port Managers across all seaports in the country.

The restructuring of the ports hierarchy takes immediate effect as the newly appointed Port Managers will resume duty on Monday, August 19, 2024

Dantsoho, in a Memo dated August 14, 2024, which he signed, was copied to the Executive Directors Engineering and Technical Services; Finance and Administration, and Marine and Operations Divisions of the Authority for proper implementation.

Sources revealed to our correspondent that Mr Adebowale Lawal Ibrahim takes over as the Port Manager of the Apapa Port Complex; Mr. Abubakar Sanni Isa is now the Port Manager of the Tincan Island Port; and Mr Abdulraman Husaini will hold sway at the Onne Port in Rivers State.

Others are Messrs Sa’du Dahiru Mohammed (Delta Port); Emmanuel Anda (Lekki Port); while Mrs Kenechi Edith Okezie retained her position as the Port Manager at Rivers Port in Port Harcourt; and Mr Ekine Ibafiri Alex will resume duty at the Calabar Port.

Meanwhile, all the former Port Managers affected by the restructuring have been directed by the MD NPA to report to the Executive Director (Marine and Operations).
They are Mr Ogaga Charles Bamidele ( Lagos Port Complex); Sylvester Egene (Tincan Island Port); Teslim Bamidele Makanjuola (Delta Port); Olumati Ikechi Festus (Calabar Port); and Aliyu Abubakar (Lekki Port).

According to our reporter at marina from the agency Headquarter, the sacked Port Managers have few months left in service as they have attained the mandatory age of retirement from service soon
