NIGERIA EMBASSY SPAIN DEFRAUD HER CITIZENS.

I am persuaded to put up this write-up because of the happening going on for quite a while with fellow compatriots which seem so unfortunate that Nigerians suffer in the hands of the Embassy officials and Nigerian Police. Let us not forget an article published in 2008 entitled ´SAVE NIGERIANS IN SPAIN FROM THE NIGERIAN POLICE AND NIGERIAN EMBASSY ´.It was an article that chronicled one of the malfeasance conduct and discourteous services rendered by the Nigerian Embassy in Spain. It raised an issue and it bothered on the non-acknowledgement of Nigerian Embassy in collaboration with the Nigerian Police to fulfil their obligations by refusing to issue out the Police Character Report Certificates to a large numbers of Nigerians who are in the range of 4500-5000 that validly thumb printed and paid the sum of 160 Euros each and 5 months on, yet, the hope or chance for the collections of Police Report was dim and forlorn.

If we engage in a simple arithmetic, we find that the amount in Euro was 720,000-800000 thousand Euros and if we proceed further by converting it to Naira, and the rate of exchange at that time of the exercise was 176 Naira to one Euro, it then amounted to 1.3-1.4 Billion Naira, Heavens, this amount is sorely gargantuan, that it is unimaginable that the Nigerian Embassy in collaboration with the Nigeria Police could extort such a huge amount from Nigerians that are helpless and could only resort in keeping mute because people are helpless. Haven explained in brief happenings of 2008 I will like to point out the resent massive, monumental and disgraceful act of conspiracy again that the Embassy and The Nigerian Police again collaborated and intentionally defraud suffering compatriots.

Many submitted their expired Police character certificate for renewal since February 2019 which took them another six month to bring “some” back while the rest is still not sure if the owners will get them. Candidly, I sympathise with the affected Nigerians by the senseless exploitative act embarked upon by the concert of Nigerian Embassy and Nigerian Police, because there is likelihood of people losing it all. While, we thought they should bring back the certificate people paid for, rather, they were told that their data crashed and those affected needed to come and recapture again of which some of us felt that was negligence on their own part and not the people.

However, over Eighty three (83) people were affected and they agreed to rescan again but to our surprise they said those affected will pay again. I want to ask why would they pay again? On what bases would they pay again? Where has the money for the once they payed for gone to? These are salient questions begging for answers…. No doubt their must be records and everyone knows that government is continuum while it should be checked to ensure that those making claims are truly making claims that are not false but they saying they couldn’t find people’s names in their record is disgusting as they have issued receipt from the Embassy. We sincerely want the Federal government to intervene and mandate the conspirators with immediate alacrity to refund those poor Nigerians that payed twice for the Police character certificate.

The issuance of Nigerian passport is another gory tale, which indicated the failure of Nigerian Embassy lacking organisational skill, seem to be incompetent and unable to organise Nigerian passport for applicants. How many Nigerian’s resides in Spain? Why do is it always hard for us to be organised home and also outside? Are we perpetually cursed to always do things wrongly? I keep asking unending questions because there is nothing wrong in Nigerians scanning and receiving their passports at most a week after scanning apart from when there is shortage of booklet which is understandable. When people have incidents like; lost of passport, they make it extremely hard for those that are in need of a new one, why? Are the Embassy officials there for decoration? In fairness, some are not doing badly but majority have shown Nigerians that are not capable of representing the people that they are supposedly be given all the assistance in the world as Nigerian citizen. Majority of Nigerians are really suffering here and they do not have any hope back home and they just wanted to live freely here and they arrange their lives but they get frustrated by his or her own Embassy. There is no day our people won’t cry at the Nigeria house just because they have been completely frustrated by the officials at the Embassy It is in view of the aforementioned , I’ll also be very fair as we also realised that the activities on some Nigerians are so disgraceful because they engaged in all sort of things which makes a lot of things also difficult for the Embassy of which everyone suffers which is not supposed to be the case. Let not good Nigerians suffer just because of some few indecent once. The Federal government should please act fast as our people are getting frustrated on a daily bases. A word is good for the wise.
