The Nigeria Customs Service’s Tin Can Island Port Command has achieved a significant milestone, generating ₦154.3 billion in revenue for the month of October 2025. This impressive figure represents the second-highest monthly revenue ever recorded by the Command, narrowly trailing its all-time high of ₦159 billion achieved in August 2025.

According to Comptroller Frank Okechukwu Onyeka, the Customs Area Controller, the revenue growth can be attributed to increased trade activities and the successful deployment of the Unified Customs Management System, also known as the B’Odogwu software platform. This digital platform has not only improved trade facilitation but also strengthened the Command’s revenue performance.

The Command’s spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Customs Oscar Ivara, highlighted that the October result reflects the Command’s continued efforts to improve automation and enforcement. Under Comptroller Onyeka’s leadership, the Tin Can Command has intensified digitalisation and compliance checks, aligning with the Nigeria Customs Service’s national strategy led by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.

Stakeholders, including shipping agents and freight forwarders, have reported reduced delays and faster processing times under the new system. The improved efficiency has contributed to the Command’s revenue growth and enhanced trade facilitation.

The Command is working to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and expand the B’Odogwu system to close operational loopholes further. With its impressive performance in October, stakeholders are eagerly watching to see if the Command can surpass its August record before the end of the year.
