NASS Raises Bar for NPA: 2025 Revenue Target Now N1.7tr

The National Assembly (NASS) has given the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) a significant revenue challenge for 2025, raising its target to a whopping N1.7 trillion. This ambitious goal is a substantial increase from the NPA’s initial projection and is expected to test the agency’s ability to optimize revenue generation from Nigeria’s bustling ports.
The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, recently disclosed that the agency generated N753 billion in 2024.
The MD NPA, who stated this during a presentation on the NPA’s 2024 revenue performance and 2025 projections to the National Assembly, also projected N997 billion for 2025.
However, the Joint Committee on Finance, chaired by Senator Sani Musa and Hon. James Faleke, increased NPA’s 2025 revenue projection to N1.75 trillion.
The adjustment, the committee explained, was based on maximising NPA’s 56 revenue streams.
The session underscored the growing scrutiny of Nigeria’s key revenue-generating agencies as the government seeks to maximize income amidst economic challenges.
