Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Ja’afaru Ahmed, has advised the public to discountenance reports that Maryam Sanda, who killed her husband, had been pardoned.
The service lamented the news making the rounds that Sanda was among the 2,600 prisoners granted reprieve nationwide by President Muhammadu Buhari as part of measures to decongest the correctional facilities across the federation in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Seventy inmates of the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, where she is, had been granted pardon.
