MAJAN congratulates Customs CG on 100 days in office

The Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN) has sent congratulatory message to the Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on his 100 days on the saddle as helmsman of the NCS.
In a statement issued by the leadership of the association, the group said: “Since assuming office in June 2023, the enigmatic and charismatic customs boss has hit the ground running, building bridges and strengthening ties with both stakeholders, organisations, agencies of government, communities and individuals.

“He has done all in a deliberate and sustained move to take the NCS to the next level and also enshrine a Customs Service that places highest premium on trade facilitation, security and operational effectiveness, while keeping tabs on uncompromised revenue generation.
“As one on a familiar terrain, Adewale’s first 100 days has witnessed a clear intent to transform NCS and harness its full potential through his three point policy thrust anchored on collaboration, consultation and invitation.”
MAJAN restated that the Customs boss has made no pretence in his resolve to tackle smuggling and other trans-border crimes, adding that Adeniyi is on the march to leaving an enduring legacy in the NCS and “we at MAJAN wish him a successful tenure as we have confidence in his ability to turn things around in the service.”
