LIFE IN NIGERIA, UNSAFE, TOUGH – Molokwu Chris

39, years old Molokwu Ugochukwu Chris, who for the better part of his life dwelled in Gamboru Local Govt. Area of Borno State, North of Nigeria, has lamented the spate of terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria, stressing that the Nigerian life is tough, vicious and unsafe.

Molokwu who was accosted by some journalists around the passport office at PWD, Ikeja, Lagos, noted that the effect of terrorism in Nigeria has been devastating and frustrating.

He stressed that it was the attack of Boko Haram which consumed his business and two male siblings that rendered him almost hopeless.

According to Molokwu who hails from Ogidi in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, he escaped death by the whiskers when the insurgents struck, killing and burning any structure in sight.

Continuing, Molokwu noted, “I can never get over the sudden death of my brothers. I thought they too jumped out through the window when the blood-letters invaded for destruction that faithful night. But they were unlucky.

“My shop and wares all got destroyed in the inferno that trailed the visit of the merchants of death”.

Molokwu who managed to find a safe haven after then, has called on government to protect the citizens who are more prone to attacks now than ever before; emphasizing that he became a major target because he belonged to a group, the Rightness Ambassadors who campaigned vehemently against terrorism, especially in the Northeast of Nigeria.

He further stressed that given the ground that terrorists network cut across the various genres of Nigeria, activists and all those who speak openly against insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria remain endangered citizens who are at the mercy of assailants in a nation with porous security apparatus. He however vowed that no amount of threat will stop him from condemning evil practices against humanity. He also urged all agitators against terrorism to increase the tempo of their struggles.
