Kwara assembly investigates illegal acquisition of state owned property

The Kwara State House of Assembly has set a five-man Ad-Hoc Committee to probe illegal acquisition of government property by individuals in the state.

This followed matter of general public importance on the sudden change of government-owned Tourist Kitchen to Bubble 007, raised by House Leader and representative of Ilorin Central Constituency, Abubakar Olawoyin Mogaji.

Speaker of the House, Yakubu Danladi Salihu, who presided over yesterday’s sitting, disclosed that members of the committee are, Saheed Popoola (Ojomu/Balogun Constituency) as Chairman and Abdullahi Halihu Danbaba Deputy Chairman.

Others are Hassan AbdulAzeez Elewu, Abdul-Gafar Olayemi Ayinla and Olamide Ayokunle Awolola, who represent Ilorin South, Ilorin North West and Isin constituencies respectively.

Salihu charged the committee to carry out the assignment diligently, assuring that the House would not allow the state’s commonwealth to be taken over by individuals and that necessary steps would be taken to salvage the state from socio-economic waste.
