The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has lamented that the outstanding bills owed by its customers, which has hit N148.63 billion, is slowing down the vision to ensure constant electricity supply in its catchment area.
According to the Head of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, who disclosed this, KEDCO remains resolute to render quality service to customers by upgrading its network and systems.
While pleading with its customers, KEDCO said they should not continue to pile up such debts through unsettled bills or not paying in time for services rendered to them, stressing that the increased power supply depends heavily on co-operation of the people.
He noted that such massive infrastructure boost and network expansion could not be fully achieved with such huge debt over hang, stressing that payment of the bills would strengthen KEDCO’s capacity to do more.
