The Kano Zoological Garden has recaptured a fleeing lion during an all-night search.
Its Managing Director, Sai’du Gwadabe, who confirmed the development, stated that a team of rangers rescued and re-caged the wild animal yesterday morning.
Before the re-caging, he added that the lion had devoured several goats and others in the zoo prior to its sedation.
The MD said the operation was executed without loss of lives, regretting the tension the incident generated.
The authorities had announced the escape of the wildlife from its cage into the nearby forest on Saturday evening.
