Kaduna CAN flays state government’s inability to stop kidnappings, banditry

The Kaduna chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has blamed the state government for its inability to arrest banditry and kidnapping, following the abduction of Principal of Government Technical College, Francis Maji, in Kajuru.

Its Chairman, Reverend Joseph Hayab, who condemned the abduction of the Principal, said it was unfortunate that the state government has politicised security.

He lamented the worsening cases of kidnapping and armed banditry, pointing out that it has assumed a dangerous dimension and over and above what the security agencies could handle.

“And because of kidnappings going on, our leaders just hear about it and react, as if the people being kidnapped and killed are chickens. They do not feel as if it is not human beings that are being killed. That is why they have not made attempts to march the bandits word for word and action for action,” he stated.

Hayab blamed Governor El-Rufai for the alleged politicisation of security and endangering the lives of victims in the state.
