The Journalists International Forum (JIFORM) has called on its members to begin early preparations for the 5th JIFORM summit in Toronto as it begins talks with its respective partners.
The forum’s president, Dr Ajibola Abayomi, noted in a statement that the call became imperative given to previous experiences, especially on the logistics challenges and filing for visa applications.
Dr. Abayomi urged interested members of the JIFORM who wish to attend the summit physically to join the WhatsApp provided on the platform to get updated on the necessary requirements.
He, however, noted that those interested in the summit must be prepared to seek sponsors on their own or fund the trip.
The JIFORM president further stressed that the event is not a job opportunity trip, a platform to ferry anyone abroad, or a stylishly “bring person(s) for the purpose(s) of trafficking under whatever disguise, as he maintained that no one is being cajoled or forced to join the group, stressing that the fewer, the better.
