The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) has arraigned a former Executive Chairman of the Benue State Primary Education Board, Augustine Laha Dzever, for alleged transfer of N140.9m to another account.
Spokesman of the Commission, Rasheedat Okoduwa, disclosed this yesterday in a statement in Abuja, saying Dzever was charged before Justice S. A. Itodo of the Benue State High Court, Makurdi, on a nine-count charge.
ICPC’s counsel, Bako Along told the court that Dzever had in 2005 as Executive Chairman of the board, allegedly transferred N140, 878, 378 from the personnel account to the board’s overhead account, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 22(5) of the ICPC Act, 2000.
The court also heard that Dzever, had in 2005 allegedly transferred another N24, 477, 918 from the personnel account to the board’s overhead account, thereby contravening Section 22(5) of the ICPC Act, 2000, among other allegations.
