Two straight lovers, Opeyemi Adeyemi Ebenezer and Tella Adeyemi Fatai, recently suffered the humiliation and threat of their lives when news of their being gays filtered into the neighbourhood through the friend who harboured them.
According to one of the gay lovers who plays the man, Tella Fatai, their harbourer (names withheld) incidentally caught those fondling on a fateful day and quickly told another tenant who broadcast the situation.
As a result, Tella said they were almost lynched but for the intervention of a learned samaritan who warned them against the illegitimacy of what they attempted to do.
Newsmen met the duo in their ruffled and embattled state at a street near Ejigbo bus stop in Ejigbo LCDA. Though they granted newsmen interview, they refused to disclose their mobbers.in pains, groaning Tella Fatai noted that him and his lover escaped death in Nasarawa State and ran to Lagos for solace unknowing that even Lagosian are ruthless to gays; lamenting that it is a helpless situation which will render perpetual fugitives because of the peculiar nature. “It is so frustrating. We have no feelings for the opposite sex. We only have feelings for our likes. Should we be killed for being natural” he asked. Vocal Tella therefore called on govt.to secure all endangered gays, stressing that the hatred for gays in Nigeria has no justification.
