The Kano State government has approved the disbursement of SR158, 000 (Saudi Riyal), an equivalent of N16 million on Sallah gifts to the state pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
According to the state government, the donation was part of the state’s gesture aimed at ensuring that the pilgrims experience a pleasant stay and succour while on pilgrimage.
With over 4,000 slots for 2019 hajj allocated by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Kano has the highest number pilgrims of 3,170 for this year’s pilgrimage.
Addressing the state’s pilgrims at Kano House A in Makkah, Executive Secretary, Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Muhammad Abba Danbatta, said Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje found it necessary to complement the spiritual activities of the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
