Fire guts CAC headquarters in Abuja

A section of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) headquarters in Maitama, Abuja has been razed by a mysterious fire.

The blaze, according to an investigation, resulted from a power surge on the sixth floor of the building.

The inferno was, however, quelled by men of the Federal Capital Territory  (FCT) Fire Service.

Addressing reporters, the Registrar General of the commission, Garba Abubakar, stated that a unit of a two-horse power split air conditioner and its electric cabling were affected.

“It is gladdening that there was no casualty arising from the incident. Furthermore, the commission’s main building, records and other vital information have not been affected by the incident,” he added.
