Fidelity Bank Continues to Make Impact in Healthcare through CSR Initiatives
By prince Benson Davies
Fidelity Bank Plc has demonstrated its commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP). The bank recently offset medical bills and provided financial support to children battling chronic health conditions, as well as donated ante-natal kits to pregnant women at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) Parklane.
The intervention, which was carried out by newly inducted employees of the bank, Optimizers Inductees Class, as their community impact project, was matched with financial support from the bank. This gesture has brought relief to many families who were struggling to pay their medical bills.
Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications Division, Fidelity Bank Plc, highlighted the bank’s commitment to improving lives through targeted social interventions across its four CSR pillars. He stated that the initiative reflects the bank’s spirit of giving back to the community and touching lives beyond providing financial services.
The Chief Matron of the Children’s Ward, Esther Nnaji, commended Fidelity Bank for the timely intervention, describing it as a lifeline for families grappling with rising healthcare costs. Several beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude to the bank for easing their financial burdens, with some describing the support as a miracle that will enable them to spend Christmas with their families.
This recent outreach to ESUTH further highlights Fidelity Bank’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and strengthening community well-being across Nigeria through community-driven CSR efforts. The bank’s efforts have been recognized with multiple local and international awards, including the 2024 Excellence in Digital Transformation & MSME Banking Award and the 2024 Most Innovative Mobile Banking Application award.
Fidelity Bank’s CSR initiatives are a testament to its dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of Nigerians. The bank’s efforts to support maternal and child healthcare, as well as its commitment to community development, demonstrate its role as a responsible corporate citizen.
