Edo ranks highest on performance among APC states, TETFund lists varsity for intervention

The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has ranked Edo highest in term of performance among states controlled by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Its peer review mechanism considered the reforms, initiatives and programmes of the Obaseki administration in arriving at the decision.

The information was contained in the forum’s “June 2019 Progressives Strides – Tracking Development Initiatives in APC States” signed by its Director-General, Salihu Moh. Lukman.

He said there was an increase in the pattern of initiatives introduced by the states, as Edo recorded the most for the month with eight strides spreading across infrastructure, economy, agriculture, environment, sports and capacity building.

Lukman added: “Nasarawa followed with seven strides; Ekiti, Lagos, Ondo and Yobe with six each; Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Ogun and Osun got five apiece; Borno, Gombe, Kaduna and Niger have three each. Kogi has two while Jigawa and Plateau have one each.”

Meanwhile, the Obaseki/Ogbeide-Oyo Dynasty has dismissed an alleged agreement between the family and the governor.

Head of the family, Pa Igbinokpogie Amadasun, made the denial in a statement in Benin City.

Besides, the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has listed Edo University, Iyamho, as a beneficiary of its yearly intervention.

The news was broken by the fund’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Suleiman Elias Bagoro, after a visit to the institution where he was represented by the Director of Strategic Planning and Development, Ifiok Ukim.
