Dr. Dorcas Daniel-Bature Elected Chair of CILT Lagos Branch

Dr. Dorcas Daniel-Bature, FCILT, has been declared the winner of the chairmanship election of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Lagos Branch, Nigeria. She secured 67 votes, defeating her opponent, TPL Soledetun Abdulkarim-Yusuf, FCILT, who garnered 43 votes.
Election Results
The election results were announced by Mrs. Juliana Saka, FCILT, Chairperson of the 2025 CILT Lagos Branch Election. Other positions were also filled as follows:
– Welfare Officer: Mrs. Oladipo (unopposed) – 102 votes
– Public Relations: Mrs. Umo (unopposed) – 100 votes
– Financial Secretary: Kelvin Obewu Konumah (unopposed) – 95 votes
– Treasurer: Justina Nwosu (unopposed) – 102 votes
– Assistant General Secretary: Vincent Nkwocha (unopposed) – 100 votes
Reaction
The election was described as transparent by critical players, and TPL Abdulkarim-Yusuf congratulated the winner, Dr. Bature, wishing her success and wisdom in her new role. Dr. Bature will take over from Dr. Bashir Ambi, FCILT, whose two-term tenure is ending. The elected officers will be sworn in at the Institute’s National Conference and Annual General Meeting.
